Southern Institute for
Health Informatics

2000 Conference

14th September 2000

Park Building, University of Portsmouth

Call for participation

Aims

Information for health has set the agenda for the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) to modernise the National Health Service. How do we implement that agenda and how are the technologies developing to make it easier to do so? These are the key questions that participants in the conference will be attempting to answer.

The conference will bring together:

  • clinicians of all types,
  • administrators,
  • system developers,
  • academics
  • and others with an interest in the application of ICT to deliver better health care.

We know that there are a wealth of activities going on out there - and we also know that a lot of them have aspects that reinvent the wheel. Come to the conference and tell us what you are doing and find out what everybody else has going on.

Interested?

If you'd like to participate in the conference, either as a speaker or as a delegate, please fill in the form. We'll let you know when the programme is arranged and when registration is open.

You don't have to be a SIHI member to join in!

About SIHI

SIHI was formed in 1998. The Institute is a consortium centred on the University of Portsmouth and the Hastings & Rother NHS Trust and involving a large number of other healthcare organisations in southern England. These organisations include NHS trusts and specialist units, as well as commercial businesses and suppliers.

SIHI is one of the 10 regional focal institutes of the UK Institute for Health Informatics (UKIHI) formed in September 1998. UKIHI's motto is "Better information - better health" and is setting out to provide a national focus for health informatics that brings together healthcare and computing professionals and others with common goals.

The photographs on this and other pages were taken at the 1998 and 1999 SIHI conferences.
