Information Marketplace ("InfoMart")

The Conference

The SIHI conferences (this year's is the twelfth) are traditionally informal events, and the infomart is designed in that vein. The infomart is an opportunity for companies and researchers to talk to potential customers and collaborators in a convivial setting without the trappings of a full-scale exhibition or trade show.

Infomart format

More informal than an exhibition; more formal than trying to catch people in a corridor.

Each participating organisation will be provided with a desk and chairs. You may bring some form of freestanding display stand if you wish.

A limited number of spaces have nearby electricity sockets. Wireless internet access can be provided.

If you are a company with products or services to sell, a researcher with interesting results to publicise, or an NHS organisation with a project to let people know about, the infomart is for you!

Accommodation and facilities

The conference will be held in the Dennis Sciama building at the University of Portsmouth.

The infomart will be held in the lunch/refreshment areas and adjacent rooms. Someone will be there from 0900 to show you to your desk.

On the day, coffee will be available from 0900 with the conference proper starting at 0930 and finishing around 1600. Delegates will be encouraged to visit the infomart during that coffee session, the mid-morning break and during the lunch interval (1 hour). (All timings provisional at the moment.)

If necessary, substitutions or additions can be notified to us up to 48 hours before the conference. Cancellation can be made free of charge up to 28 days before the conference. Thereafter the full price becomes due.


The conference will bring together those who are working on all aspects of health informatics, including:

  • clinicians of all types
  • health service managers
  • system developers and integrators
  • patient representatives
  • researchers and educators
  • and others with an interest in the application of ICT to deliver better health care

The conference attracts a significant number of what might be termed upper-middle level managers in the health service - directors of IM&T, and so forth. The schedule of speakers will include several notable NHS personnel.

Previous conferences have typically attracted nearly 100 delegates.
