The conference will be held in the Dennis Sciama Building at the University of Portsmouth. This is on the main campus near Gunwharf.

Conference reception will be in the foyer just inside the main entrance, opening at 0900.

Delegates are strongly advised to avoid travelling by car due to University preview days running on the same day as the conference, so parking is expected to be difficult.

Directions (by rail)

From either Portsmouth Harbour or Portsmouth & Southsea you can walk (about 10 minutes) or get a taxi to Burnaby Road (about 5 minutes). Landmarks in the road are the Register Office and Portsmouth Business School.

Directions (by car)

Entering Portsmouth on the M275, follow signposts for "Historic Ships" until you reach Queen Street. (The main entrance to HMS Nelson will be on the right.) Turn second left into St James's Street and then left into Portland Street. Follow the road round and the Dennis Sciama Building will be on your left across a paved area, opposite Portsmouth Business School.

Disabled access

The building and all rooms used by the conference are accessible by wheelchair. Delegates with any special needs are invited to contact the conference organisers.


Toilet facilities are located on each floor of the building.
